The Ford side of the Ford Edison Estates

On the Ford side of the Estates, you can just imagine the family lazing out on the front porch or fishing in the bay on a sunny day.

The Edison side of the Ford Edison Estates

On another brilliant Florida day we went to the Ford Edison Estates.  The Estates neighbor one another as Edison was a friend / mentor to Ford and the Fords purchased the property next to the Edison Estate following one of their visits.

On the Edison side you realize how very much Edison questioned everything.  Plants from around the world are found on the property as he was curious to learn more about the various species.  His stand alone office has a reflecting pool just outside it enabling him to sit and ponder.  And, of course, a lab sits across the street for his hands on pursuits.

Manatee Park

Those of you who have followed our blog for a while know that my manatee sightings have been few and far between.  Well Manatee Park had over 150 manatee in residence and I was able to take photos to my hearts content.

Group Bike Ride

We joined the group bike ride one week and rode into downtown Ft. Myers to Ford's Garage for lunch.  The food was great and the restaurant surroundings even better.  Even the bathrooms featured automotive products.

Great fun!

Ft. Myers, FL

After a month at the not so friendly park Cypress Trails quickly restored our faith that RVing could be a solution for us.  We met more people in the first afternoon of our arrival than we did the entire month at that other place.  Additionally, I met Colleen who became a fast friend and exercise buddy. We enjoyed water aerobics, Zumba, pickle ball and more.

Cross Creek RV Resort was our first month long stay in Florida.  It was nice and had a great pool.  The residents were polite and courteous.  The one thing we couldn't say after a month was that the residents were friendly.  People seemed to have their own cliques and we were bystanders they didn't quite want to include.  We were glad to move on.

Ringling Museum...

On our journey, we made a stop at the Ringling Estate and toured the art gallery and grounds.  The Ringling's definitely had amazing art and architectual preferences.  The property was stunning and all right along the shore of Sarasota Bay.
